Formalism: Gallery
Formalism, what is it? Well formalism is essentially the art of taking photos in manner where the observer is simply intrigued with the angles and such of the photos rather than questioning the where or who is in the photo. The photos below, at least in my opinion, are what formalist photographers aim for. As you can see nearly each one, with the exception of, "A Cave To No Where," shows sharp lines/angles that are simply intriguing. Of the 5 photos displayed below, my personal favorite is the photo named, "Needles." As even though it is a simple photo of a pine tree branch it's interesting to see all the lines coming at the looker of the photo.
